We have a Welfare Team to provide support if you are in need of someone to talk to about any personal circumstances affecting your studies.
The Student Welfare team offers information, advice and support to students with disabilities. This includes mental health difficulties, on-going medical conditions and specific learning difficulties.
In accordance with our duties under the Equality Act (2010), we provide reasonable adjustments that meet the needs of disabled students; remove or minimize disadvantages otherwise resulting from the disability; and encourage students to participate in University life and succeed in their studies.
Our Student Welfare Team is based in the iCentre and are pictured below. From left to right, Francesca Wood (Student Welfare Officer and Information Centre Assistant) and Emily Young (Head of the Information Centre and Student Welfare).
Disability Support - Study Support Service
We hold drop-in sessions for current students, where you can discuss anything with us in confidence. Our Student Welfare Officer is happy to have a face-to-face meeting or you can call +44 (0)207 400 6789 or email firstname.lastname@example.org any time.
We may be able to assist you with special arrangements for your lectures and for your examinations. You may also find you’re eligible for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), which can be used for equipment and support to help you to complete your course. Take a look at the DSA website for more information, or contact us if you’d like to talk it over.
